DIASTASIS RECTUS ABDOMINUS

Diastasis Restus Abdominus was previously termed abdominal separation. This is the widening and thinning of the linea alba (the connective tissue that runs down the midline of your stomach) during pregnancy. This natural physiological process of widening and thinning occurs in 100% of pregnant women. Pregnancy doesn’t just affect the linear alba, the whole abdominal wall has to stretch and contour around the expanding uterus.

Following the birth of your baby some women may feel unhappy with the way they stomach looks or feels. This can be due to the changes that have occurred at the linea alba or the relaxed abdominal wall or sometime due to both. We can help correctly assess and create an individual rehab plan to ensure your core recovery is complete.
